The Chairman, Zamfara state Central Youth Forum (ZCYF), under the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Malam Abba Muhammad, has called on the state government to, without hesitation, reinstate the 14,000 civil servants who had been dismissed from service for 3 years now.
Malam Abba, who said this yesterday when receiving some victims of the reported controversial screening exercise of the state civil servants conducted by Governor Yari administration, said the ZCYF would continue the struggle to ensure the sacked workers were reinstated.
“We heard that the majority of the victims were youth who were labeled as unqualified workers despite their impressive educational qualifications, and that has been the biggest blunder committed by the present administration”, Abba said.
He further threatened that the youth from the 14 local government areas of the state would pay the ruling APC in its own coin during the forthcoming general elections, if the dismissed workers across the ministries of the state were not unconditionally reinstated, adding that this will help avoid using the youth as thugs by unpatriotic politicians in the state.
The chairman despite the years it has been in power, since the defunct ANPP, totaling 16 years now, yet even the state university could not be established like all other states across the nation, stating further that nothing could be seen in terms of projects as a sign of rapid development of the state.
Earlier, the leader of the sacked workers, who pleaded anonymity for security reasons, told the ZCYF chairman that the state government had, for over a year now, heralded the immediate reinstatement of over 7,000 workers out of the 14,000 earlier dismissed, but could not make provision for their salaries neither were they given primary assignments.
