The Zamfara state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kenneth Ebrimson has directed Area Commanders and the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) across the state to ensure that the IGP directive for the withdrawal of men attached to VIPs and government officials is fully enforced.
This was contained in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, DSP Shehu Muhammad, saying the Commissioner had summoned Area Commanders, DPOs, CPU, CTU and Mobile Commanders in effort to ensure men of the Command attached to Multiple National Companies, political office holders, coorporate bodies and individuals are withdrawn.
“I have received a signal directing for the withdrawal of men attached to the category mentioned before and or on the 27th of March 2018, therefore, I am conveying this order to all the management of the Police departments and units under my Command”, CP Ebrimson reiterated.
He further warned that, henceforth, no any Area Commander, DPO and other Commanding Officers under the Command should deploy men to any of the category stated without the authorization of the Inspector General of Police, “Only the IGP can grant the approval to this effect”.
The Commissioner called on the affected personalities to consider the development as an effort to ensure accountability for effective policing capable of securing lives and property of good citizens in Zamfara state and the country at large.
