The Zamfara state Central Youth Forum, under the umbrella of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on the attention of the Minister of Finance, Alhaji Bashir Yuguda and other stakeholders to, without hesitation, intervene to end the issue of thuggery in the party.
In a statement issued by the forum’s chairman, Abba Muhammad Dangude, the game of thuggery in PDP would no doubt derail the fragile opportunity that the party has in its effort to smoke out the government of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state come 2015.
Dangude lamented the use of thugs between members of the party aimed at achieving power tussle, warning that the PDP has never won any gubernatorial election in the state since 1999, adding that if perfect understanding and unity among the gubernatorial aspirants and their supporters were not allowed to reign as the 2015 general election is fast approaching, there is fear that history may repeat itself.
“It is unhealthy for the members of the opposition PDP in Zamfara state to embark upon activities that would give the ruling APC another chance, despite amount of calls for change by the largest number of good people across the state”, Dangude challenged.
He further challenged that the good of the PDP was to ensure thuggery-free politics, adding that the plan of changing the attitude of the youth to good could not be achieved without putting them on the right path as early as possible.
