Zamfara killings: Vigilante group distances self

Zamfara state Vigilante group of Nigeria has distanced self from the controversial meeting alleged to have caused the merciless killings by gunmen in Unguwar Galadima last weekend.

The state Chairman, Bashir Nafi’u Gadabiyu said in a statement that, he already wrote to the state Commissioner of Police notifying him that the controversial meeting may resulted into crisis and that not a single member of the group would honour the invitation.

Gadabiyu disclosed that, the organizers of the meeting who, according to their source was identified as Kurma ‘Yargaladima, has never been a member of the group at a local and state governments level, and described him as the devil that wanted to smear the good image of the group.

He said the group did not hesitate to inform all security agencies in the state of the nasty plan to conduct a meeting in a disguised identity of the group, earlier before the damage was done.

The statement said, the deadly meeting was organised by the association of hunters which was mistaken for the vigilante group.
