The Zamfara State Government has announced the conclusion of all arrangements aimed at celebrating first 100 days of Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle led administration in office.
This was heralded yesterday at a press conference by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Bala Bello Maru, in his office at Jubril Bala Yakubu secretariat Gusau, the state capital, saying, it will take the state government five for the 100 days celebrations.
According to Bello Maru, the 100 days anniversary will begin by series of prayer sessions by religious leaders which was planned to seek Almighty blessings on both the federal and state governments, security agencies, repented bandits for unreserved contributions towards restoration of peace in the state.
He said, security experts which includes both serving and retired personnel, were invited to deliver lectures through which they will preach the importance of being peace-loving, law abiding, religious tolerance and brotherhood keeping.
“During the 100 days anniversary, Governor Bello Matawalle will visit one of the proposed sites secured for the construction Ruga settlements to lay the foundation. And a grand durbar will also take place in the state capital as symbol of peace and unity”, the SSG has maintained.
Illicit acts: Kebbi NUT charges parents to monitor children From Ahmed Idris Birnin Kebbi
The Kebbi State chairman of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Comrade Umar Issa has admonished parents to be monitoring their children in order to avoid any illicit acts in the society.
He gave this charge on Monday while addressing newsmen in his office adding that is the responsibility of the parents to caution their children on how their leaving and study after returning back from schools.
He explained further that by next month all schools will be opened for another calendar , urged the teachers to demonstrate sense of modesty to the students whenever they resume from vacation.
“We are calling on the parents to also complement on the good deeds efforts of the teachers in order to show the student a good behaviour and orientation. They need a lot of counseling in order to curb any illicit acts such as drug abuse, drinking of alcohol, smoking and others,” he added.
Issa who said further those arrangements have been concluded for the celebration of Teachers Day which is coming up on 5th October, urged everyone to support the teachers as they are all bed rock of the society.
He commended the National President of NUT Comrade Nasiru Idris kaura as well as the Kebbi State Government for supporting teachers in the state, promising them more commitments toward promoting education leaner.
“We are also appealing to you for sponsor our staff for training for them to have more knowledge on teaching,” he said.
