Zamfara state emirate councils, comprised of Dansadau and Bazai, have conferred twin traditional titles on the first military administrator of the state, Col. Jibrin Bala Yakubu (rtd), who served 15 years ago.
The retired Colonel, who was in the state to console with the people of the state over the recent merciless killings across the state by unidentified gunmen, was given the title of Baraden Dansadau by the Emir of Dansadau, Alhaji Hussaini Umar.
While the emir of Dansadau announced that a turbaning ceremony date would soon be heralded for the new Barade, the District Head of Bazai in Moriki emirate, Alhaji Muhammad Aliyu, who also conferred the title of Mabudin Bazai on the former governor, said the turbaning ceremony will be organised immediately.
The emir of Dansadau recalled that the labour of Col. Yakubu towards the development of both the state and the emirate would never fade in their minds, stressing that, “this is why we shall continue to see you as the son of the soil.”
Receiving the titles conferred on him, Col. Jibril Bala Yakubu, who was in tears from excitement, thanked the two emirates and the entire people of the state for keeping him memorable and assured that he would serve to the best of his ability for the rapid development of the state.
