Zamfara state Commissioner for Agriculture, Malami Aliyu ‘Yandoto, on Wednesday tendered a resignation letter from the state government service as Executive Council Member (ECM).
The letter, which was submitted through the office of the Secretary to the state government (SSG), Tijjani Yahaya Kaura, explained that, the decision to voluntarily resign was followed by careful consultations made by the Commissioner.
It further contained that, the resignation will put to record effect from today (Friday), adding that the reason for the action remained very personal, as he assured the state governor, AbdulAzeez Yari Abubakar of his highest regards, both in government and politics.
The letter read in part: “The decision to resign was followed by careful consultation with my family, political associates and well-wishers to enable me to concentrate fully on my political activities”.
Sources from the state All Progressive Congress (APC) headquarters however, leaked that the resignation by the embattled Commissioner may not be unconnected with the party’s denial for him to contest the post of Senator Zamfara central against the incumbent Kabiru Garba Marafa.
