Ahead of the October 7 Eirld Cup qualifier in Uyo, the Chipolopolo of Zambia have changed their travel plans to Nigeria as they continue their mind games ahead of the World Cup qualifier next weekend.
The Chipolopolo of Zambia will now arrive in Nigeria on Thursday ahead of a crucial World Cup qualifier after it was widely reported they will be in a day earlier, officials disclosed.
Zambia team manager Chris Kaunda told reporters the Chipolopolo are now to fly in on Thursday.
He also said that as a result of poor flight connections into Ghana, a second batch of foreign-based professionals would only join the rest of the squad in Ghana on Tuesday morning.
Turkey-based forward Chisamba Lungu and the South African contingent – captain Kennedy Mweene, Brian Mwila, Justin Shonga and Roderick Kabwe will fly into Ghana on Monday.
The rest of the foreign pros will then join up Tuesday morning.
“That was the best we could manage because of the flight connections,” said Kaunda
Coach Wedson Nyirenda his team will be in fighting shape for Nigeria with three full training sessions in Ghana.
The match on Saturday, October 7, will kick off 5pm Nigerian time.
