From Yakubu Mustapha, Minna
The Niger State Peoples Democratic Party PDP chieftain and governorship aspirant, Engr Hanafi Mua’zu Sudan, has charged on Nigerlites and Christian religious leaders to use the two festivities to offer special prayers for the state and Nigeria.
Engr Hanafi noted that it’s obvious that the APC lead government is not living to the expectations of the citizens, hence the state is in retrogression instead of moving forward.
This was contained in a statement he signed and made available to the media in Minna. He urged Nigerlites not to be discouraged by the economic hardship, poverty, unemployment brought about by the APC lead government, just as relief will come their way as 2019 draws nearer.
He assured that “very soon the storm will be over as PDP has been repositioned and rebranded to regain power in 2019.”
The gubernatorial aspirant blamed the current state woes to lack of focus, commitment by the state government led by Abubakar Sani Bello who had dissolved his cabinet without adequate plan to put in place a formidable team that can take the state to greater height.
He, therefore, charged the PDP members and loyalists to remained focused, steadfast devoid of intimidation, so as to remain united to take over what belongs to them come 2019 general elections.
He wished the people of the state and the country merciful Christmas and most prosperous New Year in advance.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger state Barr. Tanko Beji, has said that the party has been “repositioned and rebranded to regain the position it mistakenly lost to the APC in 2015’” adding that they “will do everything legally possible to assume the political leadership of the state and country again.”
Tanko Beji made the remarks in a Christmas and New Year message to Christians which was also made available to newsmen in Minna yesterday.
He noted that as “we enter the new year there will be heightening of political activities across the country as such people should play politics devoid of acrimony and character assassination.
“We should not be swayed by the lust for money as this would only ensure the retention of the status quo” adding that the PDP was prepared to put things in their right perspectives when it retakes power in the country.
The PDP also urged the people of the state not to be discouraged by the harsh economic situation in the country saying “very soon the storm will be over”.
