In the spirit of the celebration of the festive period, Omalife Rescue Foundation, a Kaduna based Non Governmental Organization (NGO) has donated food and clothes to widows and orphans in Kakau of Chikun local government area of Kaduna state.
At the programme tagged; Food and Cloth Fiesta, the founder of the foundation, Omanibe Blessing Ameh said the program which has been an annual event in the past five years is basically conceived to help and put smile on the faces of the less privileged in the society, like widows, orphans and the disabled persons.
Omanibe used the occasion to call on the leadership at all levels of governance and spirited individuals to do more for the less privileged people in the society.
She stressed that “Nigerians who have the means can do better, with the resources in the country, our people are not supposed to be this poor.
“Even though some of our NGOs have not lived up to expectations, there are those that have the spirit of giving and when assisted can be the agent of change that the country need to move to the next level.
“It is an annual event and we promise that it will get better every year. We are appealing to those that have the means to come to our aid to render more assistance to those who don’t have “ she said.
