The Management of FC IfeanyiUbah have approved a 13-day break beginning from Wednesday, 20th December, 2017 for the players, technical crew and the entire staff of the team after Tuesday morning training at the FC IfeanyiUbah International Stadium, Nnewi, Anambra State.
A statement by the team’s Media Officer, Iyke Nwokedi, said that with the Yuletide season around the corner, “the break will enable all and sundry affiliated to the club to embark on journeys back to their respective homes to join their families in celebration of Christmas and the anticipated New Year.”
He quoted the Club’s Team Manager, Jonathan Igwe, as saying that “the break will serve as an opportunity for all affiliated to the club to reunite with their family members for commemoration and celebration of Christmas and New Year as well as take a breather from the exertions associated with the round leather game.
Mr. Igwe stated that the break will last from the 20th of December 2017 with staff and the players expected back in camp on or before 2nd of January 2018 to embark on the final lap of preparations for the new season.
FC IfeanyiUbah will begin the 2017/18 season campaign with their first game at home against NPFL newcomers Yobe Desert Stars on the 14th of January 2018.
The Nnewi-based team represented the country in the CAf Confederations Cup last season but crashed out in the group stage after losing 0-3 on penalties Egyptian opponent, El-Masry.
The Anambra Warriors ended 2016/17 NPFL season ninth on the log with 54 points.
