As battles begin ahead of the 2015 Presidential election, posters promoting Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi state as a presidential aspirant have flooded the streets of Bauchi town.
The posters were decked on walls by road sides and streets especially along the ever-busy Wunti street and billboards on other main streets of the Bauchi metropolis.
A close look at the glossy posters shows they were sponsored by the National Concerned Professionals (NCP), and the emergence of the posters have fuel speculations that Yuguda may join the 2015 Presidential race.
Chairman of the NCP, Dr. Mohammed Chindo, explained to journalists that they decided to canvass for a Yuguda Presidency because they believed that, with his track records in the public and private
sectors, the current Bauchi governor “is the most suitable for the post”.
“We are a body of professionals all over the country routing for the endorsement of Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi state to contest for the 2015 Presidential election under the platform of the People’s
Democratic Party (PDP)”, Chindo said.
On the report that Yuguda is eyeing Bauchi South senatorial seat, Chindo said that the NCP believes it was better for the governor to contest and lose the Presidential bid than run for the Senate.
“We need Yuguda at (the) national level as president in order to transform the entire country the way he has transformed Bauchi state.
Already we have toured the entire North-east with endorsement of Yuguda for president come 2015, and we plan to move across all other regions in the country”, he said.
