A Former Commissioner of Water Resources in Bauchi State, Alhaji Bappah Azare has declared intention to aspire for the state gubernatorial seat come 2015 general election, under the platform of People Democratic PDP even as he pledged to continue with the policies of Governor Isa Yuguda.
Declaring his intention at a press conference in Bauchi, Azare said that in the course of assignment as Commissioner for Water Resources and
Special Duties, “I learnt a lot about the water problems of the state and I will tackle them. I can assure you that if voted the problem of water in the state will be a thing of the past.”
He reiterated his commitment to the sustainability of programmes and policies of Yuguda’s administration if voted into power saying his administration shall place high premium on the fear of God, respect for human dignity and economic empowerment.
He said, “For anybody to govern the state he has to understand the problems of the state and through the assignment given to me as Commissioner for Water Resources and Special Duties, I was able to travel round the state and I understood the problems of our people.
Going by my performance and vast experience will give me an edge over others vying for the governorship.”
The former Accountant General of the state said he would bring to bear his financial knowledge in managing the finances of the state in such a way that poverty, health, education, water problems will be tackled as well as undertake road networking to enhance economic growth of the state.
On whether he would agree with consensus if the party calls for, Azare said the decision of the party is supreme and that he respects the decision of the party.
