Over N1 billion worth of drainage system built as part of the Bauchi state government effort to bail out Darazo township of incessant flooding causing havoc during rainy season was yesterday commissioned by the Governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda amidst jubilation by the inhabitants of the town.
Commissioning the newly constructed project, in the township, Governor Isa Yuguda said it was executed to address the aged long problem of flooding in Darazo.
Assisted by the District Head of Darazo, Alhaji Ibrahim Bababa, Yuguda reiterated government’s commitment towards providing dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
While at the palace of the district head of Darazo, Malam Yuguda charged both religious and traditional rulers to work towards molding the character of their children and youths.
The governor regretted the unfortunate incidence of the 2011 presidential elections violence in the state where, he recalled, several lives were lost, and urged religious leaders to intensify on prayers in order to avert its reoccurrence in the next month’s general elections.
