Youths disseminate consumer messages better, says CPC DG

Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, (FCCPC), Mr. Babatunde Irukera has said that some of the most important people to pass the message of rights on consumer issues are the young.
Irukera said this at the 5th edition of the National Young Consumer Contest award giving ceremony, organized by the FCCPC in Abuja on Monday.
Themed: Making the Digital Market Place Fairer, the contest was participated in by over 106 schools in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The CEO who said that the young people understand the importance of messaging and how best to disseminate such messages described the event as an opportunity to explore the youthful minds with the essence of creating healthy competition among them.
He challenged educators and regulators alike to rise to the occasion and help the youth to find inspiration in their passions, and to provide the young ones with the means to express their passions.
He challenged the students to brace up for more knowledge and inspiration saying that, “What makes you great is what is inside of you and not what is in the books alone”.
