A leading All Progressive Congress (APC) Presidential candidate for the 2015 general elections, Alhaji Muhammad Buhari, has urged eligible voters across the country to strive to acquire their permanent voter cards, saying it is the only power they have to elect credible leaders.

Buhari, who made the call while addressing a large crowd that gathered at the Katsina Polo ground, reminded Nigerians that without voter cards, the cannot vote out incompetent government.

He added “people should come out enmasse to obtain their permanent voter cards. No matter how corrupt and incompetent a government is, you can’t change it if you have no voter card”.

Buhari therefore tasked all stakeholders to quickly move to the grassroots to mobilize people to obtain the permanent voter card, saying “go to all nook and corners of the state to educate voters on the imperatives of the permanent voter card”.

He similarly tasked Nigerians to play politics without bitterness or violence, calling on politicians to shun thuggery and violence which he said, could disrupt the democratic process in the country.

Earlier, the Katsina State APC chairman, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa, promised that the party would mobilize eligible voters to come out enmasse to obtain the permanent voter cards.

Those who attended the gathering include, speaker of the House of Assembly, Aminu Tambuwal, Kwara state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah, former FCT minister, Nasir el-Rufa’i, among others.
