The Former FCT FA chairman, Ben Agary has reacted angrily to the news that former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Aminu Maigari is planning to get the World Football Governing Body, FIFA to suspend Nigeria over his impeachment by the board members.
Speaking in Abuja, Agary wondered why Maigari would not allow the sleeping dog to lie and allow the Nations football move ahead after his impeachment. He noted that his impeachment followed every due process which is in line with the status of the Nigeria Football Federation.
Agari noted that he is very much aware also that FIFA is a body that does go contrary to the status of any football Federation to the interest of any person or persons, while therefore calling on the former NFF president not to rubbish the good relationship he had enjoyed with them during his tenure as the president of the Nigeria Football Federation.
“We have gathered that Maigari says he is going to use his connection with FIFA to get them to ban Nigeria because of his impeachment. The question is, is FIFA Maigari personal property? Is FIFA made to represent Maigari interest alone or the interest of the member Federations?
“More so, it is not FIFA that elected Maigari, it is the Nigeria Football Congress and they have the right to decide to also remove him from office. The fact is that Maigari called the meeting where he was removed and he was personally present in the meeting and could not do anything about it, so, why trying to involve FIFA? He asked.
Ben Agary also said that he gathered that Maigari has been sending text messages to states FA chairman, inviting them for a meeting at his home. He stated that the text message states that he will personally pay each FA chairman that come for the meeting for their logistic.
“Where did Maigari get the money to be able to pay each of the FA Chairmen money for their logistic, it calls for a lot of questions,”
“The other thing that bothers me with all these things is that Maigari was involved in the sacking of the former president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdulahi through the same process, and now he is crying foul. I will advise him that he should go and relax and allow Nigeria football move forward,”
