By Usman Shuaibu

The Otunba of Yoruba in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief (Dr) Wasiu Tunwase, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct free, fair and credible elections in this year.
Tunwase, who stated this in an interview with our correspondent in his residence at Zuba on Wednesday, also charged the INEC to carry every political party along in the scheme of things.
He then pleaded with the politicians not to use the youths to ferment troubles during the elections, noting that politics is not a do-or–die affair.
He also advised the youths to shun any act capable of generating tension in this year’s elections, urging the youths to continue to cooperate with the government of the day in this present democratic era.
He appealed to the royal fathers in the FCT to come together to work for the progress of this year’s general elections in the territory.
He specifically asked the yorubas to continue to live in peace before, during and after elections, noting that yorubas are peace – loving people.
Tunwase, however, commended President Muhammadu Buhari administration for the infrastructural facilities so far provided in the country, saying that if Buhari was elected for the second term in office, he would bring more development to the country.
While commenting on the unemployment facing the youths in Nigeria, Otunba called on the Federal Government to create jobs for the youths to reduce the level of crime in the country.
On the New Year resolution, he charged Nigerians to be patient, describing this year as the year of progress and prosperity
