A total number of 225 Yobe state indigent students who scaled through a screening test would soon, between the month of this September and November, be sent abroad on state government scholarship sponsorship to Turkey, China, India.
Acting secretary to the state, Baba Malam Wali disclosed this in his office in Damaturu, the state capital, shortly after receiving the report of the committee on screening and selection of Yobe state foreign scholarship scheme, set up the state government which is aimed at developing needed manpower for the development and improvement of education in the state.
He said the choice of the countries was best on costs submitted by many counties and the state, based on its available resources decided to choose these countries.
According to him, ten students from each of the seventeen local government areas would benefit from the first batch of the scheme this year while others would benefit in subsequent years.
