A total sum of N1, 609.3 billion has been approved by the Yobe state Executive Council for the execution of five approved in the state.
This is the outcome of the Executive Council meeting, held yesterday at the chambers, chaired by the state Governor, Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahim Gaidam.
Briefing newsmen at the Government House, shortly after the meeting, the state commissioner of commerce, Alhaji Mohammed Dakasku said the amount of N973.3 million, out of the total sum, was earmarked for the procurement of 4500 metric tonnes of urea fertilizer and another 1560 metric tonnes of NPK fertilizer for sale to farmers for the 2014 cropping season.
Another sum of N315.2 million would be spent for the registration of the state indigenes for WAEC and NECO examinations, while the sum of N120.7 million goes for the procurement of materials for Youth empowerment for 392 youths who graduated from skills acquisition center, Kano. He said the sum of N117.2 million would be used to procure electrical appliances such as air conditioners, fans, extractors and piping units for the state’s ultra-modern hospital Damaturu, while the sum of N82.8 million
would be for the rehabilitation of the ring road and the inner ring roads solar street lights which would include procurement and replacement of parts such as modules, batteries, lead lamps, charge controllers among others.
