Yero flags off SURE- P internship scheme of 2000 graduates

Kaduna Governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has flagged off the SURE-P Graduate Internship Scheme, GIS for selected two thousand graduates in Kaduna State.

In his remark while flagging-Off the Scheme at Hotel Seventeen, Kaduna yesterday, Governor Yero tasked all the beneficiaries to be serious and hard working during the course of one year training.

According to him, the essence of the GIS Scheme is to engage some unemployed graduates and provide them with some level of work experience at various Ministries, parastatals and private sectors in the state.

While urging the beneficiaries to explore the opportunity provided by SURE-P at the federal and state levels , Governor Yero also promised to support another ten thousand graduates if federal government gives the go ahead.

“I urge you to make use of your brains to become useful to yourselves and the society at large ” Yero advised

He said that it was by so doing that they will encourage the federal government to invest more in the programme for sustenance.

He also advised them to have the fear of God in whatever they do in life, adding, “You will fall back to your creator in whatever you do “

Meanwhile, he hinted that the State government under its SURE-P programme will introduce a Bus Shuttle scheme for students in state.

Earlier, the Chairman of Kaduna SURE-P , who is also the Deputy Governor, Audu Bajoga observed that GIS programme will go a long a way in ensuring significant reduction in youth restiveness, decline in crisis as well as restoring the dignity of the youth.

Also speaking at the event, the National Chairman of SURE-P, General Martin Luther Agwai rtd., said the scheme would help the graduates to acquire the needed experience for greater challenge ahead.
