The Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu has enjoined his people to live in peace with one another for the development of the state and the country at large.
A traditional tittle holder, Durumin Bauchi Village Head of Birishi Alhaji Lawal Ahmad , disclosed this while answering questions from reporters after the recent unrest that led to loss of lives of three people in the area.
He said the Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Dr Suleiman Adamu , the District Head of Miri have asked all the villages heads and ward head and the people of their domain to ensure harmonious and peaceful coexistence for the development of their area.
He said people should avoid doing anything that will disrupt the peaceful coexistence enjoined in their areas.
Alhaji Lawal said the recent unrest that occurred in surrounding Yelwa has ended people should reconcile and continue with their normal activities and give peace a chance for the development of the area and the state at large.
He said “ there is no alternative to peace without peace everything will collapse , all aspect of underdevelopment will arise and you will not achieve anything under chaos and unrest situation”.
The village head said the area is calm now and people are doing their normal activities everything has picked and expressed his appreciation to the Bauchi State Governor, Emir of Bauchi, District Head of Miri , State Commissioner of Police , Divisional Police officer and other Stake holders and the people of the area that contribute to the return of peace.
Alhaji Lawal warned youths and ward head not to allow anyone to disrupt peace in their domain and warned that security agencies are always on alert to to protect lives and properties and they are ready to apprehend anyone that makes attempt to disrupt peace.
Ward head of Yelwa Tsakani Mr Philip T. Tapshin under whose Jurisdiction the unrest started explained that to put the record straight when he heard about the incident he called the community leader in the area and asked him why are they doing party at this hour since they band any ceremony in the area in the night , he didn’t called the village head as reported in some national dailies as he only called a community leader of the area not village head as reported”.
He thanked the village , security agencies and the Bauchi State Government for their quick intervention which help and restore law and order and warned youths in the area to avoid doing anything that will cause breach of peace.
