The Federal Capital Territory (FCTA), has expressed satisfaction with the successes recorded in recent yellow fever preventive mass vaccination campaign in Abuja.
The noted that the exercise was well conducted, even with a large turnout of people, which was very encouraging.
Mandate Secretary, FCT Health and Human Services Secretariat (HHSS), Malam Adamu Bappah, made this assertion while monitoring some vaccination points within Nyanya, Karu, Jikwoyi and Karshi axis of the FCT.
Bappah however enjoined residents particularly those between the ages of nine and forty-four years to ensure that they get vaccinated accordingly.
The Secretary stressed the need for the eradication of yellow fever epidemic, adding that three confirmed cases had been reported so far in the FCT.
According to him, the vaccination had duration of two streams; while the first stream covered 35 wards in the Territory, from November 24 to November 29, the second stream covered 27 wards, from November 30 to December 7.
He disclosed that school premises, places of worship and hospitals were Centres used for the mass vaccination.
