The outbreak of suspected Yellow Fever has killed 24 persons in Katsina State.
This was disclosed by the permanent Secretary, Katsina State industry of health, Dr. Kabir Mustafa in an interview with newsmen, yesterday in Katsina.
Earlier a media organization not (Peoples Daily ) had reported that, 115 persons have died in Matazu local government area as a result of the outbreak of the suspected yellow fever in the state.
He noted that only 18 persons died in Matazu local government area while six died in Danmusa local government area of the state.
He describe the alleged report of 115 death as fake news which he said should be disregarded.
.According to him, the ministry has completed the vaccination of about 6.3 million people against the outbreak of the disease in the state
“As a preventative measure, government has provided seven million doses of vaccines, out of which over 6.3 million people between 9 months and 44 years old have been vaccinated against the scourge”, he said.
He explained that, in Danmusa, when the case was first reported, eight persons were brought to the Federal Medical Centre in katsina for referral, but however six people lost their lives to the suspected yellow fever after.
