As the All Progressives Congress (APC) begins the sale of nomination forms so far three aspirants which include, younger brother to the late President ‘Yar’adua, Alhaji Abdul’aziz ‘Yar’adua, Senator Sadiq ‘Yar’adua and former deputy governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Aminchi have collected the forms.
Our correspondent who visited the APC secretariat in Katsina discovered that apart from the three gubernatorial aspirants, two other aspirants collected forms for the senatorial seat while a handful of others collected for the House of Representatives and state assembly seats.
It was further gathered that the sale of the form was going smoothly as it was been handled by the administrative staff of the secretariat where the aspirant had to only show an evidence of bank payment before collecting the form.
One of the state officials of the party who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity said “to avoid suspicion of us supporting any candidate we have kept away from the purchase of the form”.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after collecting his form, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Musa ‘Yar’adua, promised to accelerate a quick development of the state in the area of education, agriculture, health and human development.
‘Yar’adua alleged that statistics in the area of health facilities, water supply and education in the state are not encouraging, adding that performance of the state students in public examinations were also not encouraging.
He promised to provide quality and qualified personnel and enough facilities in the states schools, calling on APC members in the state to be disciplined and dedicated to the ideals of the party.
