The Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) has outlined reasons why it has accepted its present presidential aspirant, Prof Jidejisos Josiah Ejie.
The publicity secretary of the party, Apostle Samuel Eduviere explained the reason in an open remark during a press conference organised by the aspirant recently in his office in Abuja.
Among the reason for endorsing him, according to the publicity secretary, were his vast knowledge in conflict resolution, intention to retire the old people who have out-served their purposes in the system, intention to dislodge the cabal that has been high-jacking power from every government in Nigeria, plan toward ending insurgency which he believed was being sponsored and plan to enhance equity in the system.
He believed that with equity, women and the youth would be involved fully in the politics of the country which, according to him, would result into high level of advancement.
All these, Eduviere said were in the manifesto or the party.
Earlier n his welcome address, the aspirant promised equal opportunity for male and female in his government, saying that the performance of the likes of late Dora Akunyili, Oby Ezekwesili, Okonjo Iweala, among others showed that if Nigerian women were accommodated in the government of the country, Nigeria would move to the expected level.
He also promised to give the youth their rightful position in his government, adding that the youths are the leaders of tomorrow and deserves to be encouraged and treated as such.
Reiterating on the need for youths and the women to take their positions in the country, Ejie said that the high level of insecurity from Boko Haram, Herdsmen, among others couldn’t be tackled by the old men in the system.
The aspirant said he noticed with dismay that money was being circulated on top to the detriment of the poor. This he promised to end. Ejie said the old men in the system could only be used at advisory level, not as leaders, saying a modern leader should be digital as against analogue which is obtainable at the moment.
His running mate, Yahaya Salihu Zuba in an address agreed with his boss that the North should not be the only place where president should be coming from. He added that they would run all inclusive government in other to achieve a common aim.
