The management of Sunshine Stars have placed on half salary the entire technical crew of the Akure-based club after they were held to a home draw by Sharks FC.
The Akure Gunners surrendered a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 after the visitors rallied back with two late goals from Chima Akas and Frederick Obomate to ensure both teams played out a 3-3 draw.
The outcome of the last Saturday game at the Akure Township Stadium has made the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) which oversees the club announces that “the salaries of the coaching crew have been halved”.
In a statement made available, the ODSFA stated that “the coaching crew has been given a mandate to pick a minimum of nine points from their next four matches, and failure to achieve this mandate will lead to the appraisal of their positions in the team.”
The management also charged the players to re-double their efforts, show more commitment and determination to win matches considering the huge financial resources being expended by the Ondo State government for their welfare.
The Ondo government-sponsored club tendered an ‘unreserved apology’ to the teeming supporters and fans of the team who have passionately supported the club.
