Why Jonathan should be supported – Inuwa

Alhaji Danladi Inuwa is the Chairman PDP Volunteer Forum , and an aide to Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi state, in this interview with Ahmed Kaigama, he spoke on why President Goodluck should be allowed to continue in office 2015.

Do you think PDP will make difference in Bauchi state with the division between Governor Isa Yuguda and the National Chairman of PDP, Adamu Muazu?

Who told you there is difference in the party in Bauchi state, Isa Yuguda is the leader of the party in the state, while Adamu Muazu is the National Chairman of the party. Each of them is going about with his responsibility, so nothing like difference or division of the party in the state; they are all working to see the party’s success in 2015 general elections.

There is this automatic ticket for PDP serving senators, what happens to Governor Yuguda aspiration for Bauchi south senatorial ticket?

All we know is that there is nothing like automatic ticket for senators. This is a political statement. People of Bauchi state have called governor Isa Yuguda to come and vie for the Bauchi south senatorial seat , he is on it and no going back , because Yuguda has demonstrate to the people of Bauchi state that he is a democrats, let me tell you, Yuguda-led administration has put down laudable achievements it has recorded within the past 7 years, especially the realization of the Bauchi International Airport, which has been on the drawing board since 1980, but defied successful administration, with the support of Goodluck, the Yuguda administration in Bauchi state shines as litmus test for democracy in Nigeria, adjudged from the unprecedented voters’ support that ushered it into power in a free and fair election under the ‘Akasa-A- Tsare’ system voting pattern, and has executed various development projects that tailored the needs and aspirations of the generality of the state.

Most of the projects executed are in tandem with the Yuguda electioneering campaign promises, which include establishment of a State University, conversion of the Bauchi Specialist Hospital to a Teaching Hospital and the construction of a new Specialist Hospital to replace the transformed one and the establishment of a College of Medicine, College of Agriculture, College of Nursing and Midwifery, upgrading of the School of Health Technology in Ningi to college status, and the Kangere Institute of Education (NCE) into degree awarding institution. His administration carryout renovation of virtually all General Hospitals in the state and up-grading of comprehensive Health Centers to General Hospitals and Maternity Clinics to comprehensive health centers, amongst others. Governor Yuguda would also be remembered for the training of 20 Aeronautical Engineers, 20 Doctors and 100 students at the Igbinedion University, as well as the strengthening of 20 Skill Acquisition Centers across the twenty local government areas of the state and remembered business men were left behind for provision of N5 billion soft loans, youth and cooperatives to boost business or become self-reliance, and the recent training of 4, 000 youth under a skill acquisition program. I call on the people to avail themselves of the opportunities afforded them by the Yuguda administration, that is why I said governor Yuguda has demonstrated to the people of Bauchi state that he is capable all the time with the support of President Goodluck Jonathan he made this commendable success.

Your party PDP has also given President Jonathan automatic ticket for the 2015 presidential election, why are you not complaining?

Why we want President Goodluck to continue in office is because he has performed wonderfully well through his transformation Agenda, he deserved to continue in office President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s government has made good its promises to use the plethora of projects and programmes conceived under its Transformation Agenda to significantly grow the economy and improve the living standard of the citizens. Barely one year after President Jonathan made that solemn transformational pledge of ‘promising less, but delivering more’, his administration has recorded landmark achievements in all aspects of national life, talk about the sound economic management , since assuming office in May 29, 2011, President Goodluck Jonathan’s economic team has been implementing far-reaching reforms and policies conceived in the economic blue print which seek, among other things, to revive the country’s infrastructure, diversify the economy from oil to non oil, and create a vibrant economy. The President had on several occasions reiterated the commitment of his administration to make Nigeria a better place and a global economic power, the economic blueprint also recommends prudent management of the nation’s wealth to free up more funds for infrastructure projects and other developmental purposes, the present administration states in the documents that its Fiscal Strategy and Economic Objectives over the 2012-2015 period will focus a large portion of spending on key sectors which include security, infrastructure (including power), agriculture, manufacturing, housing and construction, entertainment, education, health and ICT.

Do you think President Jonathan will be accepted in the North East Region inspite of the security challenges hanged on the federal government he leads?

I enumerated a lot on the achievements of President Jonathan, security challenges is challenge hanged on each and every one. Security is everybody’s business or responsibility, we should stop playing politics with security issues, he has done his part and is expected to do more when next he come back to office, the federal government is always on it, that is why I keep on saying Jonathan needs stakeholders like Yuguda, who have the popularity and political will for their people to deliver the north east region to him, Jonathan needs Yuguda and Yuguda need Jonathan to win North East Region.
