An appeal has been made to the Federal Government to reconsider the implementation of Ruga settlement in the North.
The appealed was made yesterday by Alhaji Suleiman Bello Gambo, the Acting Chairman of Kalgo Local Government Council in Kebbi State.
He made the appeal while addressing journalists shortly after the securities meeting held at the Local Government Secretariat adding that the crisis between farmers and Fulani herdsmen is becoming worrisome to them in the area.
He added that this week he hold a meeting with the district head of kalgo and other traditional tittle order over the escalating Fulani and farmer clash, admonished them to leave in peace with one another.
He explained further that on Monday people of Zuguru village, kuka eyalowa and Sadare farmers had a clash with Fulani herdsmen where two people were sustain several the degree of injuries.
“We have to take them to FMC Birnin Kebbi for medical attention, and order the security men to secure the place for peace and love with each other” he added.
He then called on the Northern Governors to alliance with the Federal Government to reconsider the Ruga settlements insisted of National Livestock plan by them.
In a related development, the acting Chairman of Aliero Local Government Alhaji Kabir Yakubu maiarewa has called on the State Government to combined 4 to 5 fulani Ruga settlements in places in order for them to enjoyed any social amenities and make a difference between farmers and Fulani herdsmen in the communities.
He made this called this called yesterday in Aliero Local Government council adding that establishing Ruga settlements in the area’s will bring along a way to restoring peace between Fulani herdsmen and farmer in the State and some part of the country.
He urged the people to be vigilant in reporting any stranger found in the area for security conscious as on Monday a unknown gunmen was arrested after attacking some group of people and causing crisis in the area.
