The Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku Rector, Prof (Mrs.) Stella Chiemeke has said that the management of the institution was committed to driving a process that would stimulate intellectual growth and development of its students in line with the educational policy thrust of the state Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa. Professor Chiemeke who spoke to journalists in Ogwashi-Uku after receiving World Wide Chartered Certificate of Achievement award from the International Chartered World Learned Society at the weekend, disclosed that the polytechnic would continue to do the needful in building the human capital needed to stimulate sustainable society growth and development, adding that the institution would sustain its human capital development index, with a view to making the institution a hub for accelerated technological growth, she explained: “we would continue to do our best in training our students by giving them sound education that would positively stand them out” adding that the double awards given to her would spur her in rendering more services to humanity. While thanking the International Chartered World Learned Society for identifying her for the double awards, Professor Chiemeke urged lecturers and staff of the polytechnic to always put in their best so that they too could be rewarded. She said: “I dedicated these awards presented to me to my mentor, Professor Charles Akinyokun who played a significant role in my academic life”.
