Former governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has disclosed plans to return Edo State back to the All Progressives Congress ahead of the September 19, 2020 Governorship election in the State which is being contested by 14 political parties.
The immediate past national Chairman of APC dropped the hint while addressing his kinsmen and supporters of his party on Saturday at his Country home — Iyamho in Etsako West Local Government Area of the State.
It was the first time the former labour leader visited the State since the APC National Working Committee which he led was dissolved at the National Executive Council meeting that was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on June 25, 2020.
The State returned from opposition by default after the incumbent Governor of the State, Godwin Obaseki and his deputy Governor defected from APC to the Peoples Democratic party.
This was after Mr Jonathan Ayuba led screening Committee for Edo APC Governorship primary election disqualified the incumbent Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki over alleged discrepancies in his documents haven secured a clean bill of health from the Nigeria premier University of Ibadan.
Oshiomhole, vowed to team up with members of APC to reclaim haven successfully drove away the common enemies in his party.
He also stated that his mission is to bring Edo back to the parts of sustainable development and entrench a democratic Government that would consolidate on his achievements especially in the provision of basic infrastructure.
“We want to return to the government of the people by the people and for the people.
“We have a common mission to bring Edo back to the parts of sustainable development.
“I am back and ready for Edo, my home State”.
“Now the snake that enter our family home, God has driven the snake out to where he belong”.
“I have come home to join you and start the process of reclaiming the house back to the family of APC.”
“And if the people say yes and God say yes there is no Man born of a woman that can say No”.
“So now I have only one mission and I know it, is our common mission to bring Edo back to the parts of sustainable development”
“We shall bring back the era of red roof.”
“We want to bring back roads with drainage.”
“We want to bring back those lovely days when we engage our youths and we mix-up with the elders”, he said.
Our Correspondent reports that the PDP Candidate, Governor of the State, Godwin Obaseki and the APC Candidate in the election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, seem to have exceeded expectations, however, they face daunting challenges in search of answer to an important question of who wins the September 19, 2020 poll which would be decided by the electorate.
