The Baptist Conference of the Nigerian Baptist Convention has disclosed that the church has lost over 37 members in the state in the wake of the recent attack on communities in the state.
This is even as the group threw support to the proposed Creation of State Police by National Assembly was in the right direction and in the best interest of the vulnerable states in Nigeria.
The group made this know Saturday during a press conference held at the First Baptist Church, in Jos North Local Government Area of the State.
In a statement signed by the president of the group in the state, Rev. Koeleh Saleh said, “the recent action being taken by the National Assembly to review the constitution to make way for the creation of State Police is in the best interest of vulnerable states. We urged this legislative process be given diligence and should be granted presidential ascent without delay.”
The group, however, condemned the recent attack on the Plateau communities adding that the crisis was not political as being spread by some people as no political party office was burnt during the incident saying that attaching the crisis to politics was an attempt to trivialize the reality of the situation.
