Delta State Government has said that it would continue to welcome positive collaboration and partnership from well meaning individuals including Communities in the state for robust socio economic development across the state. The state Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Patrick Ukah who spoke to Journalists during the unveiling of projects executed and donated to Ebu Community by a Non -Government Organization, Ebu Collective, however commended members of the organization for introducing annual scholarship programme for indigent students from the various Communities in Ebu Kingdom into their events.
The Commissioner noted that the supports for the indigent students would go along way in enhancing healthy academic competitiveness among students in the area and called on other well meaning Deltans and Communities in the state to take a cue from the group, adding that the current administration of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa would welcome such a laudable partnership as according to him, it would continue to accelerate socio economic development in the state
Also, In his remarks, the President of the Association, Dr Kemi Emina said that aside of the core objective of drawing the roadmap for the socio economic development of the Kingdom, the association was also committed to ensuring that it disburses the fears and apprehension about Ebu from the minds of their brothers and sisters in Diaspora and thus motivate them to participate actively in Community development programme and projects in the kingdom.
In an interview with Journalists, Mrs Shimite Bello said that the group which came into existence barely six months ago, had within the period empowered in excess of N20 indigenes with loan facilitaties over N4million just as she noted that the group has also sunk and donated four boreholes to the community, adding that the group will April 2021, execute additional four borholes projects as well as ensuring the renovation and construction of markets in the community.
