Kaduna State Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM), has refuted the allegation that there are factional All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state and each faction is selling forms to candidates for the forthcoming Local Government Election.
The Head of Voters’ Education of the Commission, John Bulus, disclosed this while speaking to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
According to him, the submission of forms for LG elections will be based on the authenticity of the party.
“We are not aware of faction APC in Kaduna; and we are yet to ascertain the fact that two factions of the party were selling forms irrespective of the forthcoming Local Government Election in the state.
“We have carried out a demonstration exercise, using the Electronic Voting Machines across all the wards in the state. As you can see, the machines are ready and we are working on them to ensure that everything went on smoothly,” he said.
Bulus also debunked the rumour that the Electronic Voting Machine is being programmed to favour the ruling APC.
“A lot of arguments have come up on this issue, but I can assure you that the election will be free and fair to parties involved.
“For the election to be more transparent, the results will be announced at the polling units; but that does not mean that the party which wins at a particular polling unit has worn the election. Final result shall be announced at the Local Government Collation Centres respectively,” added.
He advised all registered political parties to participate in the election.
