The Nigeria camp has begun to fill up ahead of Saturday’s 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifying fixture against the Chipolopolo in Uyo
Super Eagles Skipper, John Obi Mikel, Chelsea’s right-wing back, Victor Moses and Odion Jude Ighalo are among the first players to hit camp ahead of this weekend’s all-important Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Ighalo arrived Lagos on Thursday and linked up to Uyo on Monday.
The team captain, Mikel as well as Victor Moses are among the early arrivals
Other players in camp are Elderson Echiejile, John Ogu, Dele Ajiboye, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Oghenekaro Etebo and Anthony Nwakaeme.
More players are expected on Tuesday which is the deadline for players to join the camp.
A competent source from the camp said that players are in high spirit for the tie and they have assured to join camp on Monday and latest Tuesday.
“The players are taking this match very serious. They want to wrap up the qualification once and for all. So, all the grey areas have been taking care of and everyone is raring to go,” the source who preferred anonymity stated.
As usual, the three-time African king will be lodged at the plush Le Meridien, Uyo.
Having subdued Cameroon over two legs, the Super Eagles need a draw at least against the Chipolopolo to qualify for the 2018 Fifa World Cup Russia
Nigeria leads Group B on 10 points, while Zambia is second on seven points, with Cameroon on three points.
