The Deputy Speaker of the house of Representatives, Rt. Hon Ahmed Idris Wase has congratulated Dr. Akinwumi Adesina on his re-election for the second term as the President of the African Development Bank AfDB, by the board of governors of the bank.
In a message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Umar Mohammed Puma, Wase described Adesina’s re-election as an attestation of his selfless service, integrity and commitment to development of the African continent.
He said that Adesina has distinguished himself when he served as the minister of agriculture and rural development during President Goodluck Jonathan administration now, as the president of the African Development Bank.
The Deputy Speaker said Adesina has made Nigeria proud and has cemented his name in gold in the annals of the history of the African Development Bank.
He, therefore, called on Adesina lto deploy his wealth of experience and consolidate on the achievements recorded in his first term in office, by repositioning the institution as a global financial giant.
