Worried by the increasing robbery attacks and other forms of criminal activities, Ughelli natives and vigilante in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State on Wednesday sent quit notice to criminals in their hideouts failure to which they will be ready to face their wrath at all costs.
The combined team of security networks in the area were seen at various streets of Ughelli North shouting themselves down as warning signals to the criminals who have turned the communities in the local government area into zones of robbery and kidnappings.
Recall that no fewer than 15 persons have been reportedly killed in Ughelli North Local Government Area by suspected cultists in alleged battle of supremacy by rival groups and armed robbers in the last few weeks,a situation that had unsettled its residents who have organized themselves into various security agencies and Vigilantes to ensure the situation becomes history.
But speaking with our correspondent, Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Youth Development, Olorogun Uteme Bateren said that Ughelli people can no longer sleep with their two eyes closed because of of the unrest as a result of series of unfortunate killings, cultism, Kidnappings and other vices.
He added that “We have been facing security challenges of armed robbery, rape, Kidnappings and all other negative vices and because of these, natives of Ughelli North and local vigilantes after due consultations, have decided to issue a stern warning to parents and criminal elements to be careful as they are ready to make lives unbearable for those who have been disturbing the Communities”.
