Four suspected Boko Haram insurgents have been gunned to death by the local vigilante group popularly known as ‘Yan Baka Gombi yesterday in Guyuk Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
An impeccable source who declined identification told Peoples Daily on a cell phone interview that, the insurgents were believed to be among those that attacked Gombi Local Government Area on Sunday and were chased by the local security (Yan Baka) riding on motor cycles in military uniforms with heavy weapons.
The source added that, the insurgents met their waterloo due to the hot chase by the yan baka which drew them in to confusion and not knowing the correct direction to escape instead took the path to the main township of Guyuk town in Guyuk Local government area in the state where they were killed after an exchange of fire with the yan baka.
Confirming the development, police public relations officer, PPRO, D.S.P Othman Abubakar said yes it is true four criminals were killed by the vigilante in Guyuk.
D.S.P Abubakar added that, he was yet to be sure if they were Boko Haram members or armed robbers.
