A educationist at the University ofAbuja in the Department of English Language, Prof. Taofeeq Azeez, has condemned the administration of Gwagwalada Chairman, Adamu Mustapha Danze over alleged failure to repair the dilapidated roads in the area.
Azeez, who is also one of the Imams (Islamic cleric) of the University of Abuja Mosque stated this while delivering a sermon during prayers at mini campus of the institution in Gwagwalada.
He explained that apart from PilotScience Primary School road which was rehabilitated, almost all the roads in Gwagwaladawere no longer motorable.
He therefore, called on the people ofthe area to hold their leaders accountable in terms of basic necessities of life.
However, some of the inhabitant whospoke on the development, accused the chairman of non-challant attitude towardsthe rehabilitation of roads in the area.
A resident, Mr. Audu Sarki, appealed to the chairman to repair Aguma-Kutunku road for the benefit of commuters plyingthe road.
Another resident, Suleiman Yusuf, charged the chairman to rehabilitate the sharp corner road that leads to Kasuwan-Dare road, noting that the road had been abandoned for the past tenyears now.
Similarly, a trader at the Gwagwalada main market, Mrs Salamatu Ayuba pleaded with the chairman to deem it necessaryto repair the dilapidated market road that links to FRCN road in the interestof the marketers.
