The Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) will hold its national convention in the Sokoto state capital this January, its national secretary has said.
In a statement by the party’s national secretary, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi Sokoto, noted that the date, which is between 10 and 11 of January, 2015 has been communicated to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by its National Executive Committee (NEC).
He also warned all members to shun political jobbers, who may want to cause confusion by making basket full of promises to garner secrete support and disintegrate the party.
Abdullahi finally urged that party’s original directive be adhered to adding that only its NEC can call for a National Convention in accordance with Article IV Section I.I of the Party’s constitution.
The party has also dissociated any link with any presidential aspirant whether from PDP or APC as it is a different political party on its own.
