The Commandant General (CG) United Nigeria Chaplaincy (UNC) ,Prof. JIdejisos Ejie has urged the National Assembly to enact its bill in to law.
The call was made during the 2018 Peace Summit held in Abuja yesterday ,saying the summit was basically organized to tackle the issue of peace in the country.
Prof. Ejie maintained that ,for the past 2 years, the organization has been yearning for the passage of the bill which is yet to be enacted by the National Assembly.
“We need the bill to be passed as quickly as possible for effectiveness and mission to be achieved.
Consequently, he said organization has also collaborated with other security agencies.
“For the past 8 years peace summit has been on in Nigeria , our officers from the 36 states are all here . This year’s summit we strongly believe that in the next 6 months Nigeria will not remain the same when it comes to the issues of peace because we will believe in one united Nigeria where Boko Haram , herdsmen embrace peace not war “.
The CG said believing peace is the ultimate and key for Nigeria .
“Religious leaders, emirs, elder statesman, believe that the organization can contribute a lot towards peace and capacity building of the country. “
“While we are still waiting for the federal government to pass our bill and we are urging president Buhari to empower us faster , for us to exercise our right of bringing more peace and tranquility to the nation .
“Nigeria need peace without peace a nation cannot stand peace is key for a united Nigeria,” Prof . Ejie emphasised.
