Students of the University of Maiduguri have praised the efforts of the institution’s management for renovating and constructing new lecture halls, theatres and hostels.
According to them, in an interview with our correspondent, construction of new lecture venues and renovating old ones is an indication that the management of the school is concerned with the academic welfare of her students.
Obely Fikyu, a fourth year student of the Department of Physical and Health Education, expressed satisfaction with what the management of the institution is doing. “It is delightful to know that the management is not just focused on renovating and building offices for themselves but also focusing on academic aspects too by ensuring that our halls are conducive for learning”, he gleefully said.
Corroboratively, Kanati Wesley, a 500 level student of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, told our correspondent that in his estimation, the institution can compete with any school in terms of infrastructure. In his words: “I have gone to many universities within and outside the northern Nigeria and I must confess that only a few universities can boast of the kind of lecture halls we have”
Rapidly and surely, the University of Maiduguri is becoming an institution to be put at par with globally standard universities.
