UniAbuja to spread admission to states

The Deputy Vice-chancellor in charge of Administration, University of Abuja, Prof. Sani Muhammad Adam, has said that the management of the University has concluded arrangement to get the applicants admitted into institution across states of the federation.
Adam, who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen after the 38th inaugural lecture of the University on Thursday, pointing out that the University of Abuja has the whole country as a catchment area.
He said the vice-chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdulrasheed Na ‘Allah was working assiduously to transform the University to meet up with the international standard.
His words: “The vice-chancellor is new and that he is working hard to transform the University. He is re-organizing the entire University and the progress is being made. We are changing the narrative of the University of Abuja. And then, the integrity of the University is also being revived. And very soon we would have a new University that is well respected nationwide”.
When asked on the unemployment facing the young graduates in Nigeria, he said the Vice-chancellor had concluded plan to train the students on Skill Acquisition Programs (SAP) where the students would be self-reliant in the society.
Adam, who represented the VC at the inaugural lecture, said the inaugural lecturer, Prof. Samuel Abayomi Asala whose the theme of the lecture was “From the Living Gut to the Speaking Dead Bone: A Journey Through the Human Body” would be useful to Nigerians as well as security agencies.
