A Coalition of Civil Society Groups has petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) through an open letter calling for the prosecution of the coordinator of Anti-Corruption and Integrity Forum (ACIF) Mr Victor Uwajeh over Senator Andy Ubah certificate saga.
The group in the letter signed by seven individuals on behalf of other organisations and presented to the IGP said it is writing in support of the Police Force effort in investigation the genuineness of the allegation of forgery of WAEC certificate made against Senator Andy Ubah, adding that
It could be recalled that Justice Valentine Ashi of the FCT High court ruled on the case regarding the said forged document and dismissed the suit, clearing Senator Andy Ubah of any irregularity regarding his certificates.
“Mr. Victor Uwajeh has made several attempts to aid faceless organizations including the Coalition of Nigeria Youths for Good Governance (CNYGG) to defame the person of Senator Andy Ubah on 10th May, 2017 at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“Again, it was later observed that the certificate being brandished in the public by the CYNGG as Andy Uba’s certificate is fake and Mr. Victor’s claim that Senator Andy Ubah is after him is false, a distraction and a ploy to divert the attention of the investigators,” the letter reads.
The group further pleaded with the IGP to proceed in the prosecution of Mr. Victor Uwejah for fraud, forgery and possession of false documents so as to discourage will-be blackmailers from this dastardly act.
Adding that the ambiguities in the designation of Uwajeh as a United Kingdom Private Investigator is a pointer to the character of the blackmailer as it is not clear whether he is an employee of the United Kingdom or a private investigator.
The Coalition of Civil Society Groups stand by you and the Nigerian Police Force in their effort to rid the country of individuals like Mr. Victor Uwajeh,” the group assured.
