An 18-years-old girl by name Regina Solomon has been crushed to death in Kaduna by a Tata Truck ladened with Coca-Cola products.
The truck crushed Regina to death in kujama Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
Eyewitness said the girl was standing by the roadside waiting for commercial transport when the truck ran into her, after dodging from collusion with two Motorcycle riders,.
A family source, Grace Ojo, who spoke to journalists in tears at the family resident, No. 11 Segma Street, Ungwan Boro, said the victim was returning home from Kujama PVC registration center when the accident happened.
According to her , the deceased, a Calabar by tribe, who is the first child of the 3 children of the parents, passed out from Goodwill Secondary School few years ago.
The source also lamented that unlike her, the victim defied and went to the place against the mother’s advice, who asked her not to go, for the first time, apparently because of the 2018/2019 admission she secured with ABU, Zaria, Pharmacy Department.
Contacted, Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Kaduna State Command, DSP Yakubu Sabo who confirmed the incident, said the girl was fatally knocked down while attempting to cross the road after registering for PVC in Kujama.
The PPRO also stated that the driver and Coca-Cola distribution dealer are already in detention in Tasha Divisional Police Station, while the Tata vehicle used has been impounded until after investigation.
A compound neighbor to the late girl’s family, brother John Saliyuk who also spoke to journalists vouched the good character of the victim, describing her as a gentle, calm and well-mannered in behavior and conduct.
Regina who died on the spot was taken to St. Gerard Catholic Hospital Morgue by the driver in the Tata.
