The leadership of association of Road Racers, in collaboration with Aso Driving School in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) donated sanitary items to patients at the Maitama District hospital, in the territory.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the presentation of the items, the director of Road racers Mr. Stanford Anyaghara, said that the gesture was to put smiles on faces of the patients at the hospital.
He said that as a transporter, he would continue to contribute his quota towards the development of humanity in the society.
He advised one of the patients, Mr. Abubakar who was involved in accident while crossing the road, to always make use of the pedestrian bridge, provided to ensure safety of people while crossing major roads in the FCT.
He also appealed to the health workers to always give priority attention to the treatment of patients whenever they are being admitted in the hospital.
Anyaghara, however, used the event to call on motorists as well as motorcyclists to obey traffic rules and regulations, while plying the roads, in order to avoid accidents.
On her part, the Coordinator of the event, Grace Nwodo, who is a staff of Love FM radio station in the FCT, said that its management in partnership with the transporters and other philanthropic organizations to visit the patients at their various hospitals every year on the need to assist them.
Nwodo pleaded with the FCT residents to deem it necessary to always make use of pedestrian bridges constructed by the government to safeguard lives.
