English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur has confirmed the sacking of manager Jose Mourinho.
Spurs are yet to make an official statement on the move but according to Sky Sports, the current form of the team is something that hasn’t impressed chairman, Daniel Levy.
Mourinho joined the club 17 months ago when he took over from Mauricio Pochettino and took Tottenham from 14th position in the Premier League to a sixth-place finish; a move that secured them a Europa League place.
In the same season, they were knocked out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage by RB Leipzig. He leaves Spurs at position seven in the table; five points below fourth-place West Ham United.
Spurs who face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday have picked up just two points from their past three league games and were knocked out of the Europa League in March.
The announcement of Mourinho’s departure comes just hours after Tottenham became one of six Premier League clubs to sign up for the controversial European Super League.
