Confusion has continued to unsettle the people of Asaba community, especially residents of Mile 5, Anwai Quarters in Asaba, Delta State following the horrendous thunder strike which allegedly killed two persons, and six others injured with scars all over their bodies on Tuesday evening.
It was gathered that the incident occurred inside the heavy rainfall when those who were trapped inside the rain hurriedly find their way into the shelter in a makeshift shop at the bank of the River Niger reportedly owned by a meat seller Identified as Madam Otega.
Trouble was said to have started when the thunder strike reared its urgly heads in what looked like targeted anger to descend on the two persons that were killed on the spot, while the six others, one of them, Mrs Gladys Okah sustained injuries as she was thrown into the gutters by the thunder strike.
Mrs Okah who confirmed the incident to our Correspondent said “ I from Isoko speaking tribe but I married in Asaba, and I was lucky enough when the thunder struck where I, and some other people were hiding during the heavy rainfall when suddenly the thunder struck”.
