In a bid to ensure the provision of befitting structures to ease teaching and learning, the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Bida, Dr Abubakar Abdul Dzukogi has laid the foundation for three projects in the sum of about N600 million under 2017/2019 TETFund projects.
The Rector during foundation laying in the campus at the weekend stated that the three projects would be completed within its period of specifications, and noted that the projects would surely be his legacies in the institution.
The projects as awarded include; one storey building of a lecture theater comprising eight (8) lecture halls with 200 seating capacity for each hall to be constructed at the rate of N133 million which will be completed within 24 months duration.
He added that the Central Multi Purpose Laboratory which he described as first of its kind in the Polytechnic in which the idea came from the current ASUP National Vice President during his first tenure who is from the school, saying that the project is to cost N172 million for its construction and to be furnished with N38 million that will be completed within 24 weeks duration.

He expressed satisfaction over the approval of TETFund special intervention for other projects after completion of many others in the last five years of his administration while he commended the federal government for the valuable projects executed in the institution.
He also noted that he was able to attract more projects to the institution due to his transparency, accountability and prudent management of resources available with completion of past projects before securing new ones considering TETFund guidelines.
He warned the contractors to be up and doing by ensuring the completion of the projects within the time frame as the institution monitoring team and external supervisors will ensure its delivery because this will ensure that more projects to be attracted to the institution, stressing that he will try to offer his best despite turbulent past five years but had remain undistracted while calling for peace if development must be enhanced.
Dzukogi said that Bida polytechnic has moved from position 12th to position 5th in Nigeria and ensure its sustainable standard, explained that the institution is greater than any individual(s) hence the need to embrace peace and peaceful coexistence so as to move the school to greater height.
He further revealed that only 40% of its students have accommodation in the school which has hindered the security of the students because majority are off campus but he have approached property developers to come to invest in the provision of hostel accommodation under Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) as well appealed for subsequent TETFund interventions to consider provision of students accommodation.
