President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in the United States of America (USA) advocated a reform of the organ’s Security Council owing to the prevailing security situation in the world.

This is coming as the President assured the gathering that the Federal Government will continue to do everything possible to rescue the abducted Chibok girls and curb the violent and criminal activities of Boko Haram.

In a statement made available to newsmen by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, Jonathan who delivered Nigeria’s annual statement to the UN also called for an urgent review of United Nations peacekeeping operations across the world.

The President assured the gathering that the Federal Government will continue to do everything possible to rescue the abducted Chibok girls and curb the violent and criminal activities of Boko Haram.

Moving on to the outbreak of the deadly Ebola Virus disease in West Africa, the President confidently assured the United Nations that Nigeria is now free of Ebola, but said that the world must act in unison to stop the disease from becoming a global disaster.
